To participate in the Major Events of the Jubilee in Rome and to pass through the Holy Door of Saint Peter’s Basilica, it is necessary to register.  You can register through the page “Pilgrim Registration” on the web site www.im.va. You can register as an individual pilgrim or as the leader of a group (even families or small groups of friends should register as groups, regardless of how many people they include).  Every group leader can register only on group for each event, and can make only one reservation for the passage through the Holy Door of Saint Peter’s Basilica.  Please note that registration for one of the events automatically includes access to the Holy Door as part of the event, at the times and in the ways that will be indicated to those registered.   Registration     ...

On Ash Wednesday, the Missionaries of Mercy will be sent forth by Pope Francis during a celebration in St. Peter’s Basilica. The figure of the Missionary is described in the Bull of Indication Misericordiae Vultus number 18. Please note the following: Characteristics: The Missionaries are to be: a living sign of the Father’s welcome to all those in search of his forgiveness; facilitators for all, with no one excluded, of a truly human encounter, a source of liberation, rich with responsibility for overcoming obstacles and taking up the new life of Baptism again; guided by the words, “For God has consigned all to disobedience, that he may have mercy upon all; inspiring preachers of Mercy; heralds of the joy of forgiveness; welcoming, loving, and compassionate Confessors, who are most especially attentive to the difficult situations of each person. Pilgrims' Visa

In preparation for the Jubilee of Mercy, the Visa Office of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) and the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of the New Evangelization (PCPNE) have signed a Modus Procedendi that can facilitate the issuance of an entry visa for Italy for the faithful who intend to come on pilgrimage to Rome and other holy sites in Italian territory. In the righthand column of this page some helpful documents are available: the application form to present to Embassies or Consulates to request this type of visa; a set of practical instructions for filling out the request; the list of countries for which a visa is necessary; the text of the accord established between MAECI e PCPNE.
